The registration process for WeChat mini program can be divided into two main steps:
- Registering a WeChat Official Account.
- Registering the mini program on the WeChat Official Account platform.
Step 1: Registering a WeChat Official Account.
Prepare a brand new WeChat account and email that has not been linked to any mini program, official account, personal WeChat, or similar entities. Once you have prepared them, proceed with the following steps.
1. Scan the QR code to log in
Open the website: WeChat Official Platform. When logging in with a new WeChat account, you will see a prompt similar to the image below. Click on the 'Register Now' button.
2. Choose the registration type
After clicking the 'Register Now' button, you will be redirected to the account type selection page (as shown below). Proceed by clicking on 'Mini Program'.
3. Mini Program Registration
After selecting, you will be redirected to the mini program registration page (as shown in the first image below). At this point, you need to fill in some basic information such as email, password, etc. After filling in the information, click on 'Register'. The system will send a confirmation email to your email address (as shown in the second image below). You need to log in to your email account to confirm. If you don't see the email, please check your spam/junk folder.

4. User Information Registration
The activation email contains the content shown in the image. Click on the link to access the mini program registration page. Fill in the required information based on your actual situation. For individuals, it is usually straightforward, just perform the real-name authentication.

At this point, the mini program registration is completed successfully. Click to proceed to the mini program for information completion,
AppId retrieval, AppSecret retrieval, developer settings, and more.Step 2、Add Project Members
Click on 'Member Management' on the left side, then click on the edit button on the right side of the project member list. Search for the relevant project member by WeChat ID, select the permissions, and confirm to add them.

- Add User (If the search is unsuccessful, please check if the WeChat ID is correct and make sure that the other person has enabled the 'Find Me by WeChat ID' option in their 'Me - Settings - Privacy - Add Contacts' settings).
Only the users who have been added as mentioned above can participate in the development of the project.
Step 3、View the AppId and AppSecret
- Click on 'Development Management' in the left-hand menu.
Click on 'Development Settings' in the tab menu. You will see two pieces of information: one is the
AppId, and the other is the AppSecret that will only appear after clicking the 'Generate' button.Remember that the
AppSecret key will only appear once. After generating it, immediately store it in a safe place such as your phone or a notepad. Otherwise, if you lose it, you will need to reset it, and if your mini program is already online, you will need to re-publish it, which can have a significant impact.- Development Settings Page
Share the obtained
AppId and AppSecret with the project development members. With that, the registration of a mini program is now complete. ✅
